From then to now

Very Early Morning, Sunday September 26th: We left our cottage whilst it was dark out. Zack and I were in the mini van.

Early Morning, Sunday September 26th: We swerved on the road a bit cause of sand and water, it was quite a thrill!! :D lol

Somewhat Early morning, Sunday September 26th: We stopped at Coquina beach and dipped our toes into the ocean for the last time this year.

Still Somewhat Early morning, Sunday September 26th: We got excited when we turned left towards Raleigh and mom and dad kept going straight! It was awesome, Only for a little bit though. There isn’t much to do when you are sitting in a vehicle, aside from sitting and looking forward, which I did a lot of. I’m so pro!

Morning, Sunday September 26th: We saw lots of cars with white towels hanging out the windows. The mystery. I checked on a website to find the meaning and I saw a funny explanation. It said “White is symbolic for surrender, a tradition started by the French” lol I though it was pretty funny. :)

Still Morning, Sunday September 26th: I broke a squeegee at the shell gas station that we filled up at, thankfully there was more than one. There was a lot of salt on our van. lol It is quarter to 11am

Unsure of the time for this one other than it was Sunday September 26th: We drove through pilot mountain (mount pilot) Pretty cool. eh? lol For all you Andy Griffith fans.

12pm we are in Fort Chisel VA

2pm in the afternoon on Sunday of the 9th month on the 26th day of the year 2010: we ate at a subway. They asked since we were from Canada if we liked Nickel Back. I'm like "uhhh, wha?" lol, apparently it is a popular band. Mustn’t be that popular, I haven’t heard of them. :P

I stopped keeping notes after that. There was a really cool skyline of a city on the way to Louisville. I think it was Raleigh.

I read a book called “None Dare Call it Conspiracy” It was a pretty good book. It was written in 1971, it deals a lot with American politics as well as international bankers and how these bankers use war to gain control of countries.

We got to Louisville around 5 or 6? One or the other. Can’t remember what I had the first day, only that it was good. I attribute my memory loss to my tiredness.

The second day, Monday; we did one counter which took most the day then came back to the house and had burgers. :)

On Tuesday we did two counters and we stopped for lunch at Qdoba, it was really good! :) Then we came back to the house and ordered in Chinese. :)

On Wednesday we stayed at the house and did some practicing around there. I also did some website work, which was nice. :) We then had Tortillas for supper.

On Thursday we left at about 4:30 – 5AM. It was a long drive. The skyline for Cincinnati  looked really awesome in the dark!

After awhile Zack said I could get some sleep; I tried to take advantage of that, but to no avail. It was terrible. So I just looked out the windshield.

When we were an hour south of London I noticed Zack was getting tired so I told him I’d take over driving. I drove about 400km, Zack slept for a chunk of that then I let him take over again cause I was/still am exhausted from the lack of sleep.

We got home at 3PM. :D It is good to be back and on my real computer again. :) Laptops just don’t cut it, especially when they are 17”.

That is about it! I have lots more to tell but there is too much, ;) Ask me in person. k? lol

Of Today, Certain Death, Socialization and Other Tidbits

I am sitting on the floor with the laptop on the bed. It is a comfortable way to sit and use a laptop. This way you do not get a kink in the only neck you have. It is strange that most people are not privy to the fact that everyone has one and only one neck. But that statistic is merely mythical. Now that is a phrase. eh? “Merely Mythical” Cool! Aren’t I the coolest to think it. eh?

Well today was another day. I will give you all ten seconds to guess what we did today: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Times up! You all lose! I got to ten before you guessed! We went to the beach today, that is what we did!
Here is how this event unfolded; It all started with me sleeping in my bed, then I awoke. I then as the usual went upstairs to find everyone already finished breakfast and left me only scrapes. So I ate what was left, which wasn’t much. I only had two egg sandwiches. Then I got ready for the beach, but not before checking all my email accounts.

Today was really warm, I notice more than any other day that my face got sun. I shall put Aloe of the Vera on it soon.
I went in the ocean right away. It was really nice and quite refreshing. After said swim I went up the beach and slept whilst concurrently tanning. Every once in awhile I would change positions so I tanned evenly, I feel like I’m a chicken on a rotisserie, making sure I cook evenly.

Well then I looked near and far, left and right. I beheld the father of me, the one who helped bring me into this world (I’m sure everyone has one of those), he was talking to some people that prior to today were considered strangers. Eventually I meandered over their, considering the fact that curiosity had overtaken the rotisserie.
When I got there they were deep in discussion. I got introduced and started talking too! Crazy, eh? It turns out they are a Christian family that home schools their children as well. Pretty wild I think. It was really great talking to them. We covered quite a big subject range. The only down side is that we are leaving tomorrow. Next year. eh? ;)

After talking I went back to momentarily get back into the tanning mode.
Then dad made the dreaded announcement that the last chance to swim was at hand. I went into the water and swam to the sand bar. I was all alone. I nearly cried, but decided not to. I started to go back to shore when I saw the sibs  and mom coming out. I started to swim toward them then went under water. I came up and someone kite surfing came 6’ from me. I almost died. I was 6’ from certain death. Well that is certainly uncertain I guess. Apparently he was a beginner. Hmm…

I swam back out to the bar with the sibs and mom before going back to the shore and showering and packing up.

As the last few minutes on the beach dwindled away I called for a moment of silence. Then I called for another moment of peaceful humness. (yea, that is a new word. :P )

One other thing that happened today; Zoe got a sand crab, it really rubbed off on her because she was a crab for the rest of the day. It was a large crab, though smaller than me. Kidding about Zoe being a crab.

We are back at the cottage. Currently getting into the packing mode. We are to leave at 4am. (am here meaning ante meridiem)

I have just decided that I am hungry and should eat. I’m hungry now!

Second last day. :’(

Well tomorrow is our last day, which makes today our second last day. Technically though tomorrow is our second last day, but our last day we will be travelling so I don’t count that.

Zack and I will be going on a trip to Kentucky for 5 days on our way back home. I’ll try to blog then as well.

Today I went swimming once. I made it out to the sand bar… alive and without being swept away. I also made it back to shore alive and well. Including making it back to the cottage in one piece. I attribute this luck to sleeping on the beach most the time. I got a lot of sun whilst laying on the beach in a comatose state.

We also had a family picture taken on the beach. It was pretty fun. :) It was amazing that we all somehow ended up wearing the same shade of colour. Pretty crazy. Considering the amount of people there are.

I bought more Powerade. I have 6 for the trip back home. :) Should be great.

Mom bought me a mini pink sewing kit. I sewed the button back onto my shorts. Hopefully it stays this time. I’ll laugh if it does cause mom sewed it last time. Although I didn’t give myself enough room to tie of the thread, so if it does break I have that excuse.
Only real men sew, and furthermore, only real men own a pink sewing kit.

I just cracked all my knuckles twice.

We almost became thief's tonight. Here is how the “almost heist” went down: We were shopping at the Food Lion. We went through the till and I distracted the cashier so that she did not check the bottom of the cart. As we are leaving the store an alarm starts blaring.
This alarm resounded in my head. The alarm was mom saying “Gabe did we pay for this water?” Gotcha! You thought it was a real alarm.
Well I said no we didn’t, so I took a jug like the good type of person I am and went back inside and said “We have 3 more like this held hostage. If you do not charge us for 4 jugs of water we will have no choice but to take further action against you and your store.
Well we didn’t really say that. It was more like “We forgot to pay for 4 jugs of water.” Then we paid. Sorry for making it sound more exciting than it really was.

Ocracoke

It is now yesterday. We went to Ocracoke island via ferry. I was very tired for some reason all day.

We got to the island and then went to the village. We then went to the beach after that. :)

I walked a lot on the beach. We collected lots of interesting looking shells. The sibs found quite a bit of sand dollars.
Whilst on the beach we found lots of Jelly Fish. There were some red ones as well as white ones. The waves were washing them up on the shore.

On the way back home while on the ferry I was sitting in the van and suddenly the ferry starts swerving and going out of controls. We almost died!!!! Then I found out that Zoe was driving the ferry. The part about it swerving isn’t true. But she did hit a buoy.

The hot tub was really cool. Could be called a warm tub.

Well There isn’t much more to write about that I can think of/remember. I know there was a bunch of stuff I was going to write, but I am not privy unto the details of said forgotten stories. I should start taking notes.

Stuff

The van got fixed today. :) There were lots of live jellies.

I got lots of sun today.

One of the sibs decided to go skim-boarding and these three guys saw him and they were like cool! We are going to try that, so they got a boogie board and were trying to skim board on it. Lol, it was a picture of extreme comedy. I wish I had the camera out. They then saw Zack pulling Ben on the skim board with rope, a long piece of rope, so I see one of these guys go up the beach and get a small piece of string to pull a guy on the boogie board. lol, So you have this guy in front pulling for all he is worth on a string being held by a guy on the board with the third buy behind the second guy hunched over with his hands on the back of the board trying to make it move. lol

Too funny.

That is all I can think about for tonight. ;)

I saw remnants of the coconut today. It was a grim reminder. But I saw a cake in the store, coconut cake. I think seeing it in that form cured me of my detestation for coconuts. lol :)

Automotive Beach

Well, as did yesterday; we took both vans to the beach. We then today sent the van in to be repaired. The guy is ordering the part in and will fix it tomorrow. This will unlikely delay our return to Ontario by a couple months.

I noticed I started peeling at my shoulder. :’( Those are real tears. haha, At least it is tanned underneath the peelage. :P
Well today I tanned more, and I swam lots. The hurricane that went by last week caused huge waves as you know. Our beach was pretty steep before the huge waves. But after all that waving on our beach it flattened it out quite nicely. But it also created a very powerful undertow. We got swept 1/2km down the shore by the time we got back to shore. Yea, it is a far distance to go. Beyond that, there isn’t much else of notable mention, other than we went for a photo shoot in the sunset, Zack, Zoe and I. But the sun had set before we left.

Mike Annunziello snores loudly at night. He shouldn’t have come with us. Darn guy!! lol, he is a cool guy though. lol

I hurt the underside of my foot. My feet have always been sensitive, I was skimming on a board and I did something that ended up not working and I flew off the board like a finch and landed hard. It almost doesn’t hurt. haha At least it was my right, not my left this time. :D

Short and sweet, like me; only I’m tall.

We went walking along the diamond shoals today. It was fun, a nice walk too. It is really cool to see the waves crashing against each other from the two currents.

There was this fish head in the reservoir of salt water. It was massive. Probably about 10lb. It stunk, as it was rotted. It was very big. haha

That about sums up the day. The waves were really high and turbulent today. So we didn’t go swimming.

See? It was short and sweet. ;)

Today was uneventful, went to Nags Head. I had a nagging feeling while I was there. lol.
I bought the piece for the camera. I also didn’t feel well all day. It was pretty bad. still feeling a bit rough. I took some Oregano oil, it really helped. :)
