Making waves

Well, I didn’t really make any waves; but there were a lot of waves today.
Today started as you would expect; like any other day I woke up.
We did the normal routine of eating and relaxing, but with a small twist, just to shake things up. We relaxed more than usual at the cottage. :P
When we did leave we went to a beach in Avon. The water was pretty nice, considering it was the Labrador current.
Whilst we were there we saw a middle aged couple digging sand with pots and pans… Their 4-wheel drive Jeep was stuck.
I think the guy was a little embarrassed as we came over and other people came to help get his Jeep unstuck; his Jeep that was made to not get stuck. We got it unstuck, with the help of a truck and some string, but mainly me with my index finger at the rear passenger side wheel well. All this typing makes my fingers strong. I can bench about 60wpm. Haven’t tested my strength in awhile though.
When we were leaving (and actually as we were arriving) the Avon beach, there was this awful stench from a garbage bin; though compared to the coconut, this was a breeze.
We then went to Hatteras Landing where I looked around and decided not to buy anything, the tough decisions of life. eh?
Then we went to Buxton! What an interesting name. Wonder how that name came about. eh? We went to the old Hatteras light house location and went walking there.
There is this metal wall that they set up, and it was really cool! As the waves hit it, it would shoot water up into the air. It is sometimes quite unexpected and you can get quite a fright if you are right over top or beside one of the areas.
I felt like living on edge today (or rather Zoe wanted to see me pummeled by the waves) so I went down into the ocean, HUGE waves. So I’m posing and Nekoda is like “GABRIEL LOOK!” and I look and this wave is towering over me, everything went slow-mo as I ran for the safety of shore. I can safely say that it was not my life that flashed before my eyes but a wave that did.
Well this happened quite a few times. The waves came to shore quite fast.
After awhile I decided not to care whether or not the waves hit me full force and just stood out there, swaying in the waves and the wind. Umm, yea I was singing and dancing in the ocean. I don’t know why it is so fun, it just is. lol
When I got home I went to take a shower and clean out my swimsuit pockets, this is one of the bonuses to swimming in the ocean, you never know what will be in your pockets after all that waverly turmoil. Well I feel something weird in my pocket so I pull it out and drop it on the floor of the bathtub. I look down at it and to my horror I see something that causes me to gasps and let out a yelp! For there in the bathtub soaking wet I am beholding a $10USD bill!!! I said thanks to the Ocean for the treasure. I felt like a pirate for a minute, with my spoils. muahaha! But then I remembered that much earlier in the day before I even went swimming, before I even went not-shopping, my father repaid me a debt that he owed to me; it was a debt of $10USD. I put it in my pocket, not my wallet.
I have decided to sell this article of money for double the face value, considering what it has been through and all. Any takers?
Well I dried off, after the shower and then took some notes of things to write about on the blog and I hid it from Zoe and she says in a mischievous voice as though she knows a secret “I already saw it” lol
After that we made Pizza’s and mine were the best tasting. I only tried mine. Everyone only tried the ones they made, except for the younglings that is.
Well tomorrow we go to Nags Head, and I’ll hopefully be able to pick up that camera part we need and then start posting pictures. :) The next few posts will probably be saturated with pictures, thus rendering it picturesque.
Well, I can’t think of anything else to write about.
Give me some ideas of some adventures to take and write about!
We saw this guy kite surfing today. He probably felt like a birdie; a birdie with dismembered wings that are only attached by strings, and are far above him. A bird that lost his wings.
I also unlocked the van door today, that was most thrilling. :)
Our hot tub gets serviced tomorrow, YAY!! After it gets serviced I’ll be very strict on people showering prior to entering the tub. That was it won’t get all sandy and smelly.
Adam and PJ just did something weird… What strange siblings I have. lol, what a conversation.
Well, I can’t think of anything else to write about for real this time.
God bless!! :)
Cheers!
